How To Make More Money As A Pressure Washer Business

What’s the easiest way to make more money in your business? You could charge more for pressure and soft washing services. Perhaps you should hire another employee or go out and sell more jobs. But what if there was an easier first step?

In a pressure washing business where you bill by the job and your employees paid by the hour, time is money, literally. That means lost time is lost income, it’s just that simple. So, what is the easiest way to make more money in your business? Be more efficient with your time.

There are so many ways to use your time more efficiently, here’s some:

  • Design your machine and trailer so time spent at the job setting up and tearing down is reduced.
  • Create a more efficient workflow for your team
  • Schedule your jobs in a way to reduce driving time between jobs.

While we recommend you work towards implementing all of these suggestions to use your time more efficiently, it’s not where you should start. You should start by eliminating the worst offender, wasted time!

I’m sure you can think back to a situation where you got to a job, unpacked and got started, and realized you didn’t have something you needed or something small broke. Then, everything comes to a grinding halt as you stop what you were doing, pack up, drive to the store or stores before heading back to the job to get started again. How much time did this cost you? 1 hour? 2 hours? It doesn’t take much before it’s cost you an additional job that day! And at the very least, money wasted paying employees while no work is getting done.

We understand the frustrations of wasted time, which is why we’ve put together a resource to help you out, 6 Things Pressure Washing Contractors Need on Your Truck at All Times. This is a simple, but effective guide designed to help you cut down on wasted time. The guide will explain 6 items that can stop you in your tracks when you don’t have access to them.

You can start by watching the video with Steve and Jonathan. They explain all the items and why they are so important. Or, if you’re like me you can just skip to the answers and download the PDF guide free from the right side of this page.

Now that you are armed with this information, you can make sure to have these items on your truck, and in some cases a spare or 2. This gives you an extra layer of preparation to save you from wasted time. Imagine, the next time a fitting fails, or a pressure tip goes flying off into the unknown, you are prepared and you get right back to work. No stopping to pack up your truck, no wasted store trips, and no lost jobs. Instead, you enjoy the benefits of more jobs done every week. And of course, more money in your pocket.
